Iolanda will represent Portugal in Eurovision 2024 with the song “Grito”, after winning the country’s national selection Festival da Canção 2024
The Eurovision 2024 national selection season has wrapped up, and Portugal has chosen its representative for Malmö! Festival da Canção 2024 came to a thrilling end during a lengthy and lively final, also marking RTP’s 67th birthday.
Hosted by former Eurovision host Filomena Cautela and TV host Vasco Palmeirim at RTP’s studios in Lisbon, the 12 finalists gave their all on stage to win over both the regional jury and the public, who had been voting all week.
In the end, Iolanda and her song “Grito” emerged as the winner after the votes were tallied.
“Grito” was written by Iolanda and Luar.
About Iolanda
Iolanda (4 November 1994), a talented Portuguese singer and songwriter, discovered her passion for music early in life. Encouraged by her parents to pursue her dreams, she delved into the world of music, eventually studying at the Conservatorium. By the age of 17, Iolanda relocated to Lisbon and successfully completed her studies in communication, marking the beginning of her journey toward a promising musical career

However, music remained Iolanda’s ultimate passion. To hone her musical skills, she made the move to London to pursue studies at the University of Sussex.
Last year marked a milestone for Iolanda with the release of her debut EP, “Cura.” Yet, her journey towards recognition began years earlier, as she sought fame through appearances on various TV shows like Portuguese Idol and The Voice.
In 2022, she took on a new role as a composer for the song “Mar No Fim.” Today, Iolanda is gaining recognition for her unique blend of Portuguese traditional sounds, pop, and R&B.
