The suspense has officially ended: RTL has confirmed that Luxembourg will participate in the Eurovision Song Contest 2026.

Following a strong return to the competition in 2024 and a memorable showing in 2025, the Grand Duchy is preparing once again to take the Eurovision stage.

Next year’s contest will be hosted by Austria, after JJ clinched victory in Basel with the emotionally charged entry Wasted Love. Several Austrian cities — including Vienna, Innsbruck, Oberwart, and Wels — have already thrown their hats into the ring as potential host cities. The official announcement on which city will welcome Eurovision fans in 2026 is set for 8 August, with the contest scheduled for mid-May.

The 2025 edition of Eurovision shattered viewership records, drawing an impressive audience of 166 million across the globe. Luxembourg’s entrants, Tali and Laura Thorn, delivered standout performances that captured both hearts and headlines, continuing to cement the country’s growing presence in the competition.

Looking ahead, Luxembourg will once again select its Eurovision entry via the Luxembourg Song Contest, RTL’s national selection show held at the Rockhal. This annual event has quickly become a key fixture in the country’s music calendar, celebrating diverse local talent and providing a platform for artists to reach a global audience.

Application details for the 2026 Luxembourg Song Contest will be announced in the coming weeks, and anticipation is already building around who will represent the Grand Duchy next.

For now, the countdown begins — Luxembourg is officially on the road to Eurovision 2026!
