2024 COPENHAGEN EUROVISION PRE-PARTY ‘MALMÖHAGEN’ – VOTE, SHOW AND AFTERPARTY WILL TAKE PLACE ON SATURDAY MAY 4 2024
An estimated 200,000-300,000 visitors are expected in the Copenhagen, Malmö, Helsingborg and Lund region for the 2024 Eurovision Song Contest events in April and May 2024. There were over 400,000 visitors to the 2024 Eurovision ticket queue for the 9 live events at the end of November. Last year Liverpool, UK had 473,000 visitors for the 2023 Eurovision events hosted on behalf of 2022 winner, Ukraine.
Taking place across the Oresund Bridge on the ‘Saturday Night’ (Whigfield) before the 2024 Eurovision Grand Final in Malmö, ‘MalmöHagen’ pits 20 of the 2024 Eurovision songs against one another to compete for your live audience votes! Your winner will be crowned the Saturday night before Sweden welcoming locals and international visitors to the fairytale hygge Danish Capital City.
‘MalmöHagen’ is a spectacular 2024 Eurovision Vote and Show Pre-Party with after party Euroclub in the Host Capital City, Copenhagen, Denmark. Taking place in VOLUME by DISIE (Danish Institute for Sustainability Innovation & Entrepreneurship) in the heart of the Copenhagen’s cultural centre and status as 2023 UNESCO-UIA World Capital of Architecture, situated at Enghavevej 80 in a former tramshed. Steps away from Carlsberg and Enghave Plads train stations with capacity for up to 2,600 guests the venue hosted Uhört (Unheard) Festival in August 2023, Roskilde Festival events (Europe’s 2nd biggest Music Festival) and Strøm Electronic Music Festival.
The announced 14 live acts to date include the reigning Malmö Eurovision Champion from 2013, Emmelie de Forest from Denmark, Sweden’s Melodifestivalen triple entrant in the 2020s, Paul Rey who has over 200 million Spotify streams and had an international hit with California Dreaming with Snoop Dog. Hera Björk from Iceland will perform a mini concert of the Eurovision hits and participated in Eurovision 2010, 2009 and was Runner-Up in 2009 Dansk Melodi Grand Prix. Sander Sanchez will also sing live and was Runner-Up in the 2020 Dansk Melodi Grand Prix and whose talent is part of the Danish Queer Music Agency community. The first ever ‘Drag-A-Vision’ Show will be produced by the Danish Drag Community including both nominated and winning performers from Denmark’s Absalon Drag Race, Just Another Drag Show and the Danish 2023 Rainbow LGBTQIA+ Awards from the LGBTQIA+ Community. An International Jury Panel and VIP Green Room will feature in this Pre-Party Vote and Show which will be compered by 2 comedic co-hosts.
Annie Rection (Denmark’s Absalon’s Drag Race Producer, ‘Kick Cancer’ Dragtastic group, Drag Queen and Podcaster) will be joined on stage by London’s James Barr (Comedian, LGBTQIA+ award winning host of ‘Gay and a Non-Gay’ Podcast & Hits Radio Breakfast Show). James has vast experience of hosting and stand-up comedy from interview experience with global superstars such as Adele, Ed Sheeran, Sam Smith, Kylie Minogue, Olly Alexander (2024 UK Eurovision Artist) and Loreen (2023 and 2012 Eurovision Winner) to name just a few. James hosted the London Cinema Eurovision Parties in 2017 & 2022 as well as the Coronavision Contests held in 2020 and 2021 on Zoom for a global audience during the pandemic. He has a celebrated entertainment career including shows in the Edinburgh Festival, National LGBQTIA+ Podcast tours and Stand-Up Comedy shows.
After the Eurovision Pre-Party Vote Show, the after-party Euroclub runs from 0030 until 0500 with DJ Ohrmeister from Germany.
