Claude has been announced as the Netherlands’ representative for the 69th Eurovision Song Contest, which will take place in Basel, Switzerland, in May 2025.

The 21-year-old singer-songwriter, known for his hits such as Ladada (Mon Dernier Mot)Layla, and Écoutez-moi, shared his excitement and gratitude for the opportunity to take to the Eurovision stage:

“I feel extremely honoured that I will represent the Netherlands at the Eurovision Song Contest next year, and I still can’t believe it. I’m really looking forward to it and can’t wait to present my song to Europe.”

Originally from Congo, Claude moved to the Netherlands at the age of nine. He fondly recalls one of his earliest memories of Eurovision, watching Conchita Wurst’s victory for Austria with his family shortly after arriving in the country. That experience ignited a love for the contest and a family tradition of tuning in every year.

Claude’s musical career took off in 2022 with the release of his debut single Ladada (Mon Dernier Mot), which has garnered over 57 million streams. His success earned him the 3FM Award for ‘Best Newcomer’, the title of ‘3FM Talent’, and recognition as Qmusic’s ‘Best Artist of the Year.’ He further solidified his popularity through his appearance on the hit Dutch TV show Beste Zangers.

In 2024, Claude released his debut album, Parler Français, for which he co-wrote all the songs. The album led to a successful tour across the Netherlands and Belgium with his band. His role as Ambassador of Freedom in 2024 was especially meaningful to him due to his personal journey and background.

Claude’s appeal extends beyond the Netherlands. The English-French version of Ladada has charted in over 15 countries, reaching the Top 10 in Italy. His latest single, Layla, continues to establish him as an artist with global reach.

Looking Ahead to 2025

Next year promises to be a pivotal one for Claude. Alongside his Eurovision debut, he will also perform at the iconic Pinkpop Festival. Though his career is still in its early stages, his impressive energy on stage, sold-out shows, and millions of streams demonstrate his potential to make a lasting impact in the music industry.
