The next edition of Melodi Grand Prix will be held during the winter of 2026.
Registration is now open, and music manager Tarjei Strøm is looking for new songs to make up next year’s final field.
– We are looking for uniqueness that can resonate widely, a song that only sticks with us once, that we and the rest of Europe will just want to hear over and over again, says Strøm.
The new music director welcomes all songwriters, artists and bands to deliver music in all genres.
At the top of the wish list is the song and artist who can win the Eurovision Song Contest for Norway in Austria.
– We are looking for artists who are ready to throw themselves into the MGP and ESC adventure with all their heart, and who, together with a very dedicated MGP editorial team behind them, can take Europe by storm!
Planning for next year’s final is well underway, and project manager Mads Tørklep is keeping his cards close to his chest.
– We are now coming off a strong year with MGP and Eurovision. We have created a superstar in Kyle and a monster hit with “Lighter”. We are working on some very exciting news for next year, which we are ready to share this fall. Just look forward to it!
