Latvia’s public broadcaster LSM has officially opened the submission window for Supernova 2026, the country’s national selection for the Eurovision Song Contest.
Artists can submit their entries from August 1 to October 1, 2025, with the full list of selected performers set to be revealed in November.
Submission Details
Solo artists, duets, and groups (up to six members) are welcome to apply. To qualify, songs must be completely unpublished and not publicly performed or broadcast before September 1, 2025.
While international creators can contribute as songwriters, composers, or producers, non-residents may hold no more than 49% of the copyright and related rights for any submitted song. This ensures that Latvian creators remain the primary stakeholders.
Applications opened on August 1 at 08:00 local time, via the Latvian Public Media portal LSM, where the full contest rules and application form are now available.
When selecting the performers, the jury will prioritize vocal ability, stage potential, international market readiness, and the artist’s previous achievements.
Latvia at Eurovision: Recent Highlights
In May 2025, Latvia was represented at Eurovision by Tautumeitas, the ethno-pop group that performed the song “Bur man laimi.” The performance resonated widely, securing 13th place in the Grand Final — one of Latvia’s strongest results in recent years.
Eurovision 2025 proved to be a global phenomenon, with over 166 million television viewers tuning in across 37 countries, and over two billion views generated via social media platforms.
