Junior Eurovision 2025 Song Review: North Macedonia

For North Macedonia’s twentieth Junior Eurovision participation, MRT internally selected 13-year old Nela Mancheska of Skopje to represent. She has competed in many competitions and has won many awards. She has gained additional fame for her viral performance of Whitney Houston’s “I Have Nothing” on the show Supertalent Hrvatska. Her song is entitled “Miracle” and it’s about her goal to be a positive force in this world. She knows in her heart she can do it. The song starts calmly, then becomes more dramatic over time to bring to an intense final chorus and then ending delicately. There are a lot of ballads this year but this song is a ballad that stands out. The music and Nela’s vocals help make this ballad make this distinct from the others. The dramatic fell of the song really help it.

JESC Chances:

North Macedonia is a nation that has been one of the most consistent at entering Junior Eurovision, only absent three times, but gets a lot of hard luck. Their best finish ever is fifth, they’ve only finished in the Top 10 six times, and don’t get me started on their constant 12th place finishes! This year, we have a common situation where North Macedonia’s song has a lot of buzz. I have seen in recent years many North Macedonian entries with a lot of buzz getting a low finish because of things like bad staging or the performance was not there. The song has already gotten a lot of appreciation at many polls and Nella has a chance for a respectable finish with a ballad that stands out. The thing is she will have to be all there for her to get a good finish in Tbilisi. Not to mention, the staging will need to be all there too.
