Czechia Reveals ADONXS as Eurovision 2025 Representative
Czechia has officially announced its artist for the 69th Eurovision Song Contest in Basel, Switzerland. Meet ADONXS, the stage name of 29-year-old singer Adam Pavlovčin, who is the third confirmed act for Eurovision 2025.
ADONXS describes his Eurovision entry as: “Uncompromising, cheeky, sometimes cinematic and with room for dancing.”
Reflecting on his journey to this moment, the artist shared:
“I have visualised this moment to a large extent and for the last year I have mainly focused on creating new songs, also with the ambition of Eurovision. I applied with several songs, and I am happy that one of them was ultimately successful. I can’t wait to be able to share the song with you.”
From Superstar to Eurovision
ADONXS first gained recognition after winning SuperStar Czech-Slovakia (the Czech-Slovak version of Idol) in 2021. Since then, he has released a string of singles and his debut album, Age of ADONXS (2022). The album marked the beginning of his rise as a prominent figure in the Czech music scene.
Now, ADONXS embarks on his next chapter: representing Czechia on the world’s biggest music stage. The singer, who resides in Prague, expressed his pride in carrying this responsibility:
“First of all, I am really happy; participating in Eurovision has always been my big dream. At the same time, I feel a great responsibility to represent a country that has a great recent history in the competition, and which is my home.”
Musical Influences
ADONXS grew up inspired by iconic artists like Queen, Depeche Mode, Elton John, and Prince. His contemporary influences include Troye Sivan, Mahmood, AURORA, Josef Salvat, Sufjan Stevens, RAYE, and Conan Gray. In 2022, he was honored as ‘Singer of the Year’ and received the ‘Musical Discovery’ award from Czech radio station Evropa 2.
Rigorous Selection Process
The internal selection process for Czechia’s Eurovision representative went through several meticulous phases in 2024. Czechia’s Head of Media, Michal Utíkal, elaborated:
“The candidates were first decided by a 10-member international jury consisting of 5 professionals from the field of music production and music composition, plus 5 former foreign Eurovision representatives. The next part was quantitative research with more than 900 respondents from three foreign countries. To ratify the voting result, we conducted another research through a focus group. And ADONXS was the clear winner in all aspects.”
Ahmad Halloun, Czechia’s International PR and Communications Manager for Eurovision, praised the decision:
“We are all pleased that ADONXS came out as the winner. Eurovision has been his dream, and you could see it from our very first meetings – he was one step ahead and ready to work. Now we are all gearing up to deliver the best result for Czechia in the Contest.”
Eurovision on the Main Stage
In addition to announcing ADONXS, Czechia’s national broadcaster ČT revealed a major change: the Eurovision 2025 broadcasts will move to their main channel, ČT 1, ensuring wider accessibility for fans across the nation.
The release date for ADONXS’ song for Eurovision 2025 is yet to be announced, but anticipation is already high. Stay tuned for updates as Czechia prepares for another exciting journey in the Eurovision Song Contest!
