Estonia’s broadcaster ERR has officially opened the submission window for Eesti Laul 2026, the country’s national selection for the Eurovision Song Contest.
The final will take place on 14 February 2026, where 12 songs will compete for the chance to represent Estonia on the Eurovision stage.
Submissions Now Open
Artists, songwriters, and producers can submit their entries between 19 September and 20 October 2025. Songs must be original and cannot be released publicly before 4 December 2025 at 21:00 (Estonian time).
To keep the competition fair, both Estonian and international authors can participate, but at least one songwriter must be an Estonian citizen or resident. Performers may come from anywhere in the world.
Song Rules
Maximum duration: 3 minutes Maximum 6 performers on stage Lyrics and music must remain unchanged throughout all rounds
Selection Process
A professional jury panel will review submissions anonymously and select 12 songs (plus 2 backups) for the competition.
In the final on 14 February 2026, the voting will take place in two stages:
Round 1: Jury and televote combine to choose three superfinalists. Superfinal: The winner is decided solely by televote.
The winning song will earn the right to represent Estonia at the Eurovision Song Contest 2026. If the song is found ineligible under Eurovision rules, ERR reserves the right to send the runner-up instead.
Prizes
ERR has also announced prize money for the top entries:
€10,000 for the winning songwriters €3,000 for 2nd place €2,000 for 3rd place
Performers will also receive scholarships according to their final placement.
