After last Saturday’s first showcase, four more Eurovision hopefuls are set to present their songs in the second episode of Eurosong this weekend. Get a sneak peek at the songs from Jelle van Dael, Mentissa, Red Sebastian, and Stefanie Callebaut.
Belgium’s journey to select its Eurovision entry began last Saturday with the first showcase of Eurosong. Four of the eight candidates introduced themselves and their songs: Grace, Lenn, Le Manou, and LEEZ. This Saturday, 25th January, the remaining four artists will take the stage: Jelle van Dael, Mentissa, Red Sebastian, and Stefanie Callebaut.
The Belgian entry will be in either French or English. As was the case two years ago, a Dutch-language song is not part of the selection.
The Four Songs from the Second half Eurosong 2025
Jelle van Dael – “Monster”

Jelle van Dael, known for her work with the dance group Lasgo, has co-written her song Monster. The track tells a partly autobiographical yet universal story about finding inner strength to face your demons.
With a career that spans both her time with Lasgo and as a solo artist, van Dael has gained significant stage experience touring the world in her twenties. She hopes to stand out with her catchy eurodance track and a striking all-white outfit.

Mentissa – “Désolée”

Perfectly bilingual, Mentissa has chosen to perform in French. Her song, Désolée, is about self-confidence—daring to be yourself and not diminishing yourself for others. Mentissa’s deep vocals are paired with a more pop-oriented sound in this track, which she performs in a bold outfit featuring square shoulders.
Mentissa won the first edition of The Voice Kids in 2014 and later participated in The Voice of Hollandand The Voice France. After gaining a recording contract in France, she became a coach on The Voice Belgique. Today, Mentissa is a well-known singer-songwriter in France and Francophone Belgium.

Red Sebastian – “Strobe Lights”

In Strobe Lights, Red Sebastian pays homage to the rave culture of the ‘90s with its signature beats. The song is a vibrant party anthem about a night out where you know how it begins but not how it ends. The track showcases Sebastian’s vocal range, starting low and ending on high, powerful notes.
Red Sebastian, the alter ego of Seppe Herreman, stays true to his stage name with a striking red hairstyle and outfit. A graduate of the conservatory in Ghent, where he was taught by former Eurovision participant Gustaph, Herreman also competed alongside Jelle van Dael in the VTM show Sing Again, following a previous appearance on Belgium’s Got Talent.

Stefanie Callebaut – “Gloria”

Former SX frontwoman Stefanie Callebaut delivers one of the most unique and experimental tracks of the competition with Gloria. Described as “an adventurous celebration of light and love,” the song features expressive performance elements, including bold gestures. Notably, Callebaut’s daughter is also named Gloria.
Gloria was co-created with producer Jeroen Swinnen, known for his work on Ik Vraag Het Aan and Liefde Voor Muziek. While not a traditional pop song, Callebaut’s distinctive voice and her experience from her SX days could make this entry stand out on the Eurovision stage.
