Junior Eurovision 2024 Song Review: Poland “All Together” Dominik Arim

To select Poland’s entry into this years’ Junior Eurovision, they held their annual Szansa Na Sukces contest for the sixth time. The event consisted of three first-round contests of seven singers each with a total of five advancing to the first round of the finals. In the Finals – First Round, all five covered a Eurovision song. The top two would advance to the second round of the final held that same day. In the second round, the two singers sang an original song. The winner would not only represent Poland at Junior Eurovision but their song would also be the song entered into the Contest. In the end it was decided 10 year-old Dominik Arim of Bobowo, the youngest of the finalists, won with his song “All Together.” Arim is the first solo boy to represent Poland.

The song is a light ballad about how he, and other young people of his generation, will make this a better world. Compared to past Polish songs, this song sounds too simplistic and even comes across as ‘angelic,’ which is a bit of a risk at Junior Eurovision. The song itself doesn’t allow Dominik to display some of the best traits of his voice. On top of it, I noticed in the video he is not very good at his stage movements. He appears too tight in his movements. There’s no doubt Dominik can sing well, but he needs to develop himself as a performer.

JESC Chances: It’s funny that as people are making predictions for the JESC winner, some make predictions for last place. Despite the flack for this song on message boards, I say hold off. Sure, it doesn’t have the qualities to make it a winner but it also doesn’t have the qualities to make it get last place. Besides we should remember last year, we thought Malta and Albania were the songs most likely to come last and they both finished Top 10. To conclude, anyone who heard Dominik sing on The Voice Poland and Szansa Na Sukces know he’s a great singer. This is a common case at ESC and JESC, where a good singer is paired with a lackluster song. Despite that, good staging can help him improve his chances for a better final placing.
