Azerbaijan is one of three nations returning to the Junior Eurovision Song Contest this year. They will be sending 12-year old singer Yağmur Nesrullayeva to the Contest. She has been performing since she was eight and currently attends an arts school. The song is about her ability to perform on a stage. I think the cat assimilations are about how she can perform like a diva. The song has a catchy sound and a catchy dance beat. I can sense some hints of Lady Gaga. She sings well and is able to show off a lot of her range in her song. It’s a song I can see people not like at first, but slowly like over time.
JESC Chances:
Azerbaijan’s participation at Junior Eurovision has been on-again, off-again. Their last participation was back in 2021 and their fifth-place finish was their best JESC finish ever. Yağmur and her song will only be their fifth participation ever. I can see a lot of people liking this song but I can also see a lot of mixed reactions. Some may compare it to the quality of the other songs. Some may even question if this song is too sultry for a child to sing. One thing to say after watching the green-screen video, Yağmur and her dancers will have to get better at their dancing for the Contest. The dancing and the staging will have to all come together for Yağmur to get a good finish at the Contest.
