For the first time since 2018, Poland used internal selection in choosing their entry for this year’s Junior Eurovision. Telewisja Polska decided on twelve-year old Marianna Kłos who finished runner-up at The Voice Kids Poland. Her song is ‘Brightest Light” and it’s a ballad about inner strength in facing the future and how she will help her friend find it. The lyrics are very uplifting and Marianna delivers very well on the vocals. They’re soft during the verses but they become bold when she sings the chorus. I’m confident this can be one of the better ballads of the Contest.
JESC Chances:
Poland may have won twice before but their last Top 3 finish was in 2021. It’s easy to see why there will be a lot of ballads at this Contest since many ballads received top finishes. One thing we should remember is that ballads are still very tricky to pull off at Junior Eurovision. Last year, Poland had a ballad but the lyrics and music were too simple. This song is a stronger ballad and with better lyrics. I feel this song can finish very high if Marianna sings it well during the Contest and there’s the right staging. Also for online voting, I know Polish fans often gives a lot of support to their entries but they will give immense support if the song is strong. I feel this is one of their stronger entries.
