Slovenia has chosen its Eurovision 2025 act! Klemen Slakonja has won Evrovizijska Melodija(EMA), securing his ticket to Basel, Switzerland, with the song How Much Time Do We Have Left?
The Return of EMA
After a two-year break, Slovenia’s national selection format EMA made its highly anticipated return on Saturday, 1 February. The show, organized by broadcaster RTVSLO, saw 12 artists competing for the chance to represent the country at the 69th Eurovision Song Contest.
The competition followed a two-stage voting system:
1. A jury panel scored all 12 performances, narrowing the competition down to a Top 2.
2. The Slovenian public then cast the final vote, deciding which of the two finalists would go to Eurovision.
The final showdown was between:
• Klemen – How Much Time Do We Have Left? (51 jury points)
• July Jones – New Religion (50 jury points)
With the public’s backing, Klemen emerged victorious and will now carry Slovenia’s hopes to Eurovision.

Who is Klemen?
Klemen Slakonja is a well-known Slovenian entertainer, having first gained national recognition in 2007 for his musical impersonations on the TV show Hri-bar. Over the years, he has become a familiar face on Slovenian television, hosting multiple shows, including four editions of EMA itself.
Although widely known for his comedic and hosting skills, Klemen has spent recent years refining his music production and songwriting. His debut solo album, recorded in London, is set for release in 2025, featuring ten original tracks that showcase his artistic identity.
