Croatia has made its choice for the 69th Eurovision Song Contest. After three shows of Dora 2025, Marko Bošnjak emerged victorious with his song Poison Cake and will fly the Croatian flag in Basel this May.
The journey to selecting Croatia’s Eurovision entry began with two semi-finals earlier in the week, narrowing the competition from 24 acts to 16 finalists. On Sunday, March 2, those 16 artists took to the stage one last time, hoping to impress both the juries and the public.
The winner was determined through a balanced voting system:
• 50% of the result came from the public televote.
• 25% was decided by a Croatian jury.
• 25% was contributed by four international juries.
After all the votes were counted, Poison Cake claimed the top spot, securing Marko Bošnjak’s place at Eurovision 2025.
Who is Marko Bošnjak
Marko Bošnjak, 21, was born in Mostar, Bosnia and Herzegovina. He first rose to fame in 2016 after winning the second season of Pinkove Zvezdice, a Serbian talent show.
Dora is no stranger to Marko—he previously competed in 2022 with Moli za nas, finishing in second place. Since then, he has continued to build his music career with releases such as Pjesma za kraj(2022), Spokojan (2023), and Nema (2023).
In addition to his growing success in the music industry, Marko is set to compete in the ninth season of the Croatian edition of Your Face Sounds Familiar later this year.

Poison Cake was written by Bas Wissink, Ben Pyne, Emma Gale, and Marko Bošnjak. The song will now take to the Eurovision stage in Basel, where Croatia will compete for a place in the Grand Final.
