Montenegrin artist Nina Žižić will represent Montenegro at the Eurovision Song Contest 2025 in Switzerland with her song “Dobrodošli”. This decision was officially announced by Montenegro’s national broadcaster, RTCG.
A Decision Following NeonoeN’s Withdrawal
The announcement comes in the wake of the recent controversy surrounding NeonoeN, the original winners of Montesong, Montenegro’s national selection for Eurovision. Questions were raised about the eligibility of their song, and after a week of public debate, NeonoeN voluntarily withdrew from the competition.
As the runner-up at Montesong, Nina Žižić was selected by RTCG to step in as Montenegro’s representative for Eurovision 2025, which will take place in Basel.
Support for Nina
Antonela Martinović, a representative from RTCG’s press team, expressed her confidence in Nina:
“I am certain Nina Žižić will represent us in the best light in Switzerland. RTCG will do everything necessary to promote our music and our country. Now, it’s up to all of us to join NeonoeN’s call to unite and support Nina and Montenegro at Eurovision.”
Martinović also emphasized the value of the 16 new songs that emerged through Montesong, encouraging a focus on the positive impact the competition has had on Montenegro’s music scene.
Preparations Underway
RTCG is now shifting its focus to ensuring Nina Žižić is well-prepared for the Eurovision stage.
“There is a lot of work ahead. RTCG will support Nina in every way possible, including her promotion and preparations for Eurovision. Meanwhile, our delegation will manage numerous administrative responsibilities with the European Broadcasting Union,” Martinović noted.
