After this year’s final, broadcasters from several countries have called for an investigation into the votes.

NRK has been in contact with the European Broadcasting Union (EBU) on Thursday and requested a review of the voting system.

Entertainment editor Charlo Halvorsen says NRK is concerned that trust in the voting in the Eurovision Song Contest is being challenged, as it has become in the aftermath of this year’s final.

– It is serious if there is any doubt that the result of the vote reflects the public’s opinion. We cannot have that. We therefore support a thorough review of the voting system to ensure that confidence in the competition is maintained.

NRK asks to be involved in the work, as a member of the EBU.

– The purpose of the review must be to strive for as fair a competition as possible, in line with Eurovision’s intentions and guidelines, says Halvorsen.
