After five nights of spectacular performances, unforgettable moments, and fierce competition, Festival di Sanremo 2025 has crowned its winner. Olly has officially secured his place in the festival’s storied history, emerging victorious with his song Balorda Nostalgia.

A Grand Finale at the Ariston

The 75th edition of Sanremo brought together 29 artists, each vying for the prestigious title. Throughout the week, a mix of the press jury, radio jury, and public televote shaped the rankings. On the final night, the results from the previous shows were combined to determine the top five acts, who then advanced to the Superfinal.

In the final round, the voting was split three ways—33% from the press jury, 33% from the radio jury, and 34% from the televote. When the results were announced, it was Olly who triumphed, etching his name into the history of Italy’s most iconic music festival.

An Unforgettable Evening

The grand finale of Sanremo 2025 was co-hosted by festival director Carlo Conti, alongside Alessia Marcuzzi and Alessandro Cattelan—best known to Eurovision fans as one of the hosts of the 2022 contest in Turin. Together, they delivered a spectacular show, marking the end of another remarkable edition of the festival.

The night was filled with unforgettable performances. Gabry Ponte’s Tutta L’Italia, the official Sanremo 2025 theme song, opened the show, setting the tone for an electric evening. On the Suzuki Stage, rapper Tedua delivered a standout performance of Bagagli, while two-time Sanremo champion Mahmood premiered his new song Sottomarini.

Adding to the star-studded lineup, Italian music legend Antonello Venditti took to the stage for a moving rendition of Amici mai and Ricordati di me. Planet Funk also brought their signature energy with Nights in White Satin, further elevating the night’s celebrations.

Who is Olly?

Born Federico Olivieri, Olly is a 23-year-old singer, rapper, and songwriter from Genoa. He studied music and singing at the renowned Conservatorio Niccolò Paganini before launching his career in 2016.

His early work saw him collaborate with the music collective Madmut Branco, followed by the release of his debut EP Namaste in 2017, alongside rapper Matsby. Over the years, Olly gained traction in the Italian music scene, with viral tracks such as Il primo amore and a hit collaboration with Arisa on a reimagined version of La notte.

Sanremo fans may remember Olly from previous editions of the festival. After reaching the Sanremo Giovani final in 2022, he made his big-stage debut at Sanremo 2023 with the song Polvere, marking his first official appearance in the competition.

His career has since soared, with his latest album Tutta vita (a collaboration with Jvli) debuting at number one on the Italian charts and earning gold certification. The album’s standout single, Per due come noi, topped the charts and achieved double platinum status.

Will Olly Represent Italy at Eurovision 2025?

As the Sanremo winner, Olly now has the opportunity to represent Italy at the Eurovision Song Contest 2025 in Basel, Switzerland. However, the decision is ultimately his.

At a press conference on Sunday afternoon, Olly revealed that he has not yet made a final decision on Eurovision participation, stating that he needs more time to consider the opportunity. If he declines, the runner-up, Lucio Corsi, will be given the chance to represent Italy instead.

For now, fans eagerly await Olly’s decision. Will he take his Balorda Nostalgia to the Eurovision stage? Only time will tell.

Stay tuned for updates as the story develops.
