Melodifestivalen 2025

The submission period for Melodifestivalen 2025 ran from August 23 to September 13, attracting a total of 2,794 entries. However, only 30 of these will make it to the competition stage. The selected artists and song titles are set to be unveiled in November/ December 2024.

The format of Melodifestivalen 2025 will see some changes compared to last year. The competition will feature five heats, each with six entries, making a total of 30 participants. From each heat, two songs will advance directly to the Final, one will stay in the competition, and three will be eliminated.

Following the fifth heat, the five third-place finishers will compete in a “Final Qual” round (“Finalkvalet”). The song with the most votes from the heats will automatically secure a spot in the Final, while the public will vote to choose the last finalist from the remaining four entries.
