For those that don’t already know, this Junior Eurovision will be the very first to have all five Big 5 nations competing. Italy has been the most loyal as this is their ninth participation. This year, they’re sending two contestants from Italy’s The Voice Kids: Melissa and Ranya. This song is a good song as we hear the vocal qualities of both singers and the lyrics feature a positive message of friendship during these difficult times. As nice as the songs sounds, there is nothing that makes this song stand out. Also the ending seems a bit abrupt rather than smooth.
JESC Chances: Italian entries at Junior Eurovision have been known to catch your attention. I feel that is the missing quality in this song. With so many ballads this year, some may dismiss this song as ‘boring.’ It’s not really a boring song but if one compares it to the other entries, it can risk being dismissed as such and it can get a lower ranking than anticipated. One thing we forget that a song that shows off the singers’ best talents is not a guarantee for a win. Something like this will need strong staging if it want to better its chances of winning.
