Today’s the date by which all interested cities must submit their bids to host Eurovision 2022. While we don’t yet know the final number of candidates, experts believe it will come down to a four cities – Rome, Milan, Bologna and Turin.
At the same time, report of Bologna’s submission bid seems to reveal the most important date and it looks like the date of the grand finale next year is slated for May 14th.
Bologna’s bid is supported by mayor Virginio Merola and the governor Stefano Bonaccini. The proposed venue is not known yet, but probably it would be either the Unipol Arena or the BolognaFiere. Bologna is the seventh biggest city in Italy and the capital of the Emilia-Romagna region in Northern Italy. In 2000 it was declared European capital of culture and in 2006, a UNESCO “City of Music” and became part of the Creative Cities Network.
