🇪🇸 SPAIN
Song: “Señorita”
Performer: Carlos Higes
Spain is one of the original sixteen. They competed in the first four editions of Junior Eurovision, winning once in 2004 and their lowest finish was fourth. Then they withdrew a long period of time. Then in 2019, they returned, and with a bang as Melani finished third. They followed it up with another third-place finish in 2020. However 2021 was their lowlight as they received their lowest finish ever: fifteenth.
This year’s entry is Carlos Higes. Here he brings in the ethnic flavor. It’s no surprise that some of Spain’s most beloved Eurovision entries are songs with ethnic flavor, and Chanel really proved it back in May with “Slo Mo!” Carlos shows a lot of great vocal skills on this song. Just like “Slo Mo,” this song is loaded with energy. It might even make you want to get up and dance too! So far of all the Junior Eurovision songs I’ve reviewed, this is the song that best fits the word relentless!
JESC Chances: Already this song is loaded with buzz. Spain will support in the televoting, but if it’s a song they really believe in. I think this is a song they will want to support. Full of energy and ethnic flavor. Many people are already picking this as a heavy favorite to win. Even I myself have taken a big liking to this song. However there are still some more songs to be released. Plus the stageshow is often make-or-break. We’ll see what it has to offer.
